Creatine supplementation and brain function
Over the past few years, much of the research on creatine (Cr) has been directed to its role as an important source of energy for muscle contraction during high-intensity physical or sports activities, and it is known that the increase in its plasma concentration promotes greater formation of the phosphocreatine complex (CrP) in muscle tissue and thus increases the energy available during exercise, prolonging the intensive work capacity of skeletal muscle, delaying muscle fatigue and promoting improved performance.
